The opportunity to learn new skills... wins awards.. and may change lives

Pen and paper used to be the way to connect with new friends in far flung places - but times have moved on and with it comes new opportunities. Filming and creating short films in Ysgol Iolo was great fun and we found budding reporters, camerawomen, sound recordists as well as extremely efficient producers and script writers!! No joke. Media industry here they come. The children on the Masaai thought they were great. How long before they can do the same!
[Ed note: We did it...See our 2018 posts!]
The production crew. Sharp!
Teamwork
Working under pressure ;-)
And when post production was done and dusted...
An invited audience came to the end of shoot party...
To watch the films..
And to partake of the on film location catering
Mums. What would we do without them? Eh?
And a project worthy of an award from Welsh Government ….  version of The Oscars I guess.
Mean while in a galaxy far far away.....
Fuel efficient stoves means free time for women - and less smoke!
Collaboration is at the heart of our projects, so our fund raising was targeted towards the Mums at Endonyiosidai.
Maasai women at Endonyiosidai usually spend 5 days a week collecting firewood. However this specific Moses project initiative supplied fuel efficient stoves will cut that by half thus freeing up more time for the women to do.... whatever they want to do!

Some said they would spend more time with their children, others were planning to make jewellery to sell in Nairobi thus creating additional income to help support their family. With the effects of global warming making farming less of a sustaining way of life, extra money would make an enormous difference to the family. With less wood being sourced this will also preserve dwindling stocks of available wood fuel, and help the race to grow a more sustainable wood crop. It is also hoped that the chest infections caused by the smoke in the kitchen place will decrease. The fuel efficient stoves were provided by The Moses project on behalf of the children of Ysgol iolo Morgannwg, Cowbridge, after the children explored the best way to help increase the income of the families of Endonyiosidai.
Thanks to Adam Martin-Jones for the helping hand just when we needed it.
